We have been taught throughout life that regular giving is a part of our stewardship responsibilities, recognizing God’s ownership of all. Our present giving is critical to the strength and witness of God’s Church. Also important is the distribution of our estates after we have gone on to be with our Lord. Therefore, as part of our total stewardship program, we should spend the necessary time to do a thorough job in planning the distribution of our estates. Regardless of your charitable giving goals, an up-to-date will is one of the most important legacies you can leave your family.
The QLBC Foundation has been established to help assist you in this very important aspect of stewardship. This page will describe its purpose and answer questions about how the QLBC Foundation works.
What is the QLBC Foundation?
The QLBC Foundation is a tax-exempt corporation formed to support the ministry of Quail Lakes Baptist Church. Its purpose is to provide a vehicle for the friends of QLBC to support the church in special ways right now and to remember the church in their wills and memorials. Through the Foundation, they can be assured that such funds will be administered for the benefit of QLBC programs separate from the church’s annual operating budget.
How will the Foundation use its money?
The QLBC Foundation supports the ministry of Quail Lakes Baptist Church in numerous ways:
- New program development
- Additional missions support for the community and the world
- To promote and support scholarships for short-term mission work and for seminary-level courses in preparation for full-time ministry
- To receive and administer funds for other educational and charitable purposes as desired by donors, upon approval of the Foundation
- To fund building programs to ensure church and ministry needs will be met
- Property acquisition and management for future church needs

Why was a foundation established for these purposes?
Many of our people have a real heart for the church and the Lord’s work. We needed to provide a channel whereby some of those people could give significant gifts for the sake of the Kingdom without hurting the local church, while supporting those areas of ministry which are closest to their heart.
How could giving gifts directly to the church ever hurt the church?
Significantly larger amounts suddenly given to the General Fund can give the membership the impression that the church no longer needs their support. Anything we cease to support also becomes less important to us. A church should always need the gifts and talents and financial support of every member.
Will money I leave to the Foundation avoid taxation in my estate?
Yes, the QLBC Foundation is a tax-exempt organization under section 501(c)3 of the Internal Revenue Code, and amounts left to it will not be included in your taxable estate.
Who will make decisions about the Foundation's expenditures?
The Foundation is governed by a board of directors elected by the QLBC members. There will be at least seven board members serving on the Foundation. The Foundation's current Board of Directors & Officers is:
Tim Ankcorn - President/Treasurer
Mike Sather - Vice President
Paul Kozlow - Secretary
Marc Maffucci - Director
Bill Bruneel - Director
Fred Hammond - Director
Steve Willis - Director
Bev Smith - Director
Lindsey Randolph - Director
