Quail's Praise Team is an integral part of our worship services, supporting the Worship Leader vocally and encouraging the congregation to join in worship. A Praise Team singer is first and foremost passionate about the Lord. He or she then uses that passion - along with their vocal abilities - to praise the Lord through song and lead others in praising the Lord.
What does being a Praise Team singer look like?
- Not every singer will sing every week, and singers are able to block off dates they are not available.
- Singers can choose if they would prefer to serve at the Traditional Service, at the Contemporary Service, or both.
- Singers typically receive their sheet music/chord charts and can listen to audio tracks (when available) 1-2 weeks in advance of rehearsal for a particular Sunday.
- Rehearsals are on Tuesday evenings (time depends on the service).
- Singers arrive early on Sundays to do a sound check and to run through the songs (time depends on the service).
- Singers will spend time on their own during the week to practice and should come prepared to rehearsal and on Sunday.
What is the process for becoming a Praise Team singer?
- Step 1: submit an application
- Step 2: vocal evaluation/audition with a Worship Leader
- Step 3: a probationary period with the Praise Team
*Each step requires passing the previous step.
